Dioptas was one of the strongest moving stallions at the Oldenburg licensing in 2011. His modern looks, maximum move-off, ideal suppleness, impressive mechanics and great elasticity were enthusiastically applauded by the spectators. Extremely willing to perform and highly rideable, he comes from a dam line with quite a reputation in sport: The line is known for Deveraux/Sanneke Rothenberger, dressage horse World Champion and multiple German and European Champion in young rider classes, as well as the Grand Prix horses Rolls Royce/Johan Zagers, Velten Sohn, the licensed stallions Roh Magic and Sir Hayfield. At  his 30-day test he received a 9.0 for character and an 8.5 for temperament, willingness to perform, constitution and rideability.

The reputation of his sire Dimaggio as an exceptional sire continues to grow. A former World Champion of six-year old dressage horses, Dimaggio sent several offspring to auctions in 2011 that brought top prices, e.g. at the Oldenburg Fall Elite Auction where Di Magico was knocked-down for 240,000 Euros and Discovery for 95,000 Euros, or  the gorgeous Dezemberspitze, the most expensive horse at the Winter Mixed Sales with a price tag of 80,000 Euros. Dimaggio’s son Del Magico, the darling of the 2010 Hanoverian licensing, was sold afterward for 200,000 Euros.
Landadel, the dam’s sire, is known for his robust performance horses which have earned more than 4.7 million Euros in sport. More than 70 of his sons have been licensed. He sired the Champion Stallion and WC participant Laudatio/Francoise Cantamessa, the Olympic reservist Leonardo da Vinci/Sven Rothenberger, Landwerder, Lagoheidor and many more as well as dressage horses that competed in Grand Prix classes. The fabulous Trakehner dressage-maker, Consul, found in the third generation, whose offspring have won more than 450,000 Euros, is a valuable addition to his pedigree.
